Rita is a non-veterinary member of the Veterinary Botanical Medicine Association.  This association is a Veterinary Reviewed Board membership.  The VBMA is a group of veterinary professionals and herbalists dedicated to developing responsible herbal practice by encouraging research and education, strengthening industry relations, keeping herbal tradition alive as a valid information source, and increasing professional acceptance of herbal medicine for animals. 

Speaker & Teacher

Rita Hogan is an international speaker and teacher who helps people understand Canine Herbalism and how to use plants according to plant language. She teaches hands-on clinics and speaks at conferences throughout the year on how the body is and functions as  ecosystem.

Formulator

Rita is an experienced formulator serving the all-natural dog market. She works with many brands both publically and confidentially.

Clinical Herbalist

Rita attended the Hawthorn School of Herbal Medicine with Sean Croke in Olympia, Washington, worked directly with plants and in nature, mentored with many herbalists throughout the years like Matthew Wood and Carol Trassato.  Rita has mapped human herbalism onto Canine Physiology.  She got her start by working directly with dogs, she is mostly self-taught through the process of working with plants, veterinarians, and reading key texts. According to Rita, the plants have been her greatest teachers. Rita has been a clinician for over fifteen years and an herbalist for over 20 years.  She works with dogs all over the world and has a full-time practice in Olympia, Washington.
